Multi-receiver Homomorphic Authentication Codes for Network Coding
نویسندگان
چکیده
We investigate a new class of authenticate codes (A-codes) that support verification by a group of message recipients in the network coding setting. That is, a sender generates an A-code over a message such that any intermediate node or recipient can check the authenticity of the message, typically to detect pollution attacks. We call such an A-code as multi-receiver homomorphic A-code (MRHA-code). In this paper, we first formally define an MRHA-code. We then derive some lower bounds on the security parameters and key sizes associated with our MRHA-codes. Moreover, we give efficient constructions of MRHA-code schemes that can be used to mitigate pollution attacks on network codes. Unlike prior works on computationally secure homomorphic signatures and MACs for network coding, our MRHA-codes achieve unconditional security. keywords: Authentication codes, network coding, homomorphism, unconditional security

A Generic Construction of Homomorphic MAC for Multi-File Transmission in Network Coding
—Homomorphic message authentication codes (MAC) have been proposed to thwart pollution attacks in network coding. The existing schemes mainly are based on the vector inner product or trace function over finite fields. Recently, Wang and Hu presented a generic construction of homomorphic MAC scheme based on linear mapping over finite fields which is an excellent abstract of the vector inner pro...
متن کاملHomomorphic MACs: MAC-Based Integrity for Network Coding
Network coding has been shown to improve the capacity and robustness in networks. However, since intermediate nodes modify packets en-route, integrity of data cannot be checked using traditional MACs and checksums. In addition, network coded systems are vulnerable to pollution attacks where a single malicious node can flood the network with bad packets and prevent the receiver from decoding the...
متن کاملHomomorphic authentication codes for network coding
Authentication codes (A-codes) are a well studied technique to provide unconditionally secure authentication. An A-code is defined by a map that associates a pair formed by a message and a key to a tag. A-codes linear in the keys have been studied for application to distributed authentication schemes. In this paper, we address the dual question, namely the study of A-codes that are linear in th...

متن کاملAn Authentication Scheme for Subspace Codes over Network Based on Linear Codes
Network coding provides the advantage of maximizing the usage of network resources, and has great application prospects in future network communications. However, the properties of network coding also make the pollution attack more serious. In this paper, we give an unconditional secure authentication scheme for network coding based on a linear code C. Safavi-Naini and Wang [1] gave an authenti...
